Looking to open/grease my burgtec pedals, but they need a specific 10mm socket with a thin wall to access the nut, and as I'm not in the UK, every seller either won't ship to me, or want insane postage (Burgtec themselves want ~£30 postage for a £4.99 socket)

Anyone know of a socket that does the job from amazon or similar? Tried a few but they're all too thick

Tried ebay? That's where I get any individual/specialist tool I need. There's more business sellers than anything else on there these days. Looks to be some Sealey (Walldrive?) ones listed that'll do the trick. (Can't link at work)

File + patience, or grinder + caution

Yeah, been trawling amazon, ebay, etc, just not spotted any. had a wera I thought would work, but didn't, nor any of the other sockets I had around. Will have a search for a Sealey, but hard to be sure for most listings, they don't give dimensions

The Burgtec one (before they released the branded one) is just a 1/4” drive Silverline 10mm socket. You don’t actually need a really thin walled one, just make sure you remove the end cap sleeve first that sits over the nut and stops the end cap bottoming out on the nut, otherwise nothing fits.

I bought a set of box spanners for £7 to service pedals, they work well

UK only, otherwise I'd have just bought it ages ago

I've got a 1/4 drive 10mm Silverline socket that fits my MK4 pedals. IMG_20250826_160428736.jpg

Pretty sure my coloured sealey set fit. Think this is them https://ebay.us/m/Lt2VLc

otherwise, stick the socket in your drill and hold a file to it

honourablegeorge Pay for it and ship to to me and I'll forward it on.

I don't need it, I've got one that came with the girlfriend, now wife, that fits but I can feel your frustration and am happy to help out.

but first check you're doing what jimmy748 said and removing the sleeve.
