Hi All, excuse the highly technical language...

I noticed the other day that there is what appears to be a broken bit where the dropper cable exits the dropper lever housing. It looks like the wire comes out through a threaded cylinder underneath a conical plastic bit before it goes into the main cable protector. The threaded metal bit that the wire goes through is broken.

Here are a couple of photos:

Does this matter or do you think I can safely keep on riding and ignore it? (I wonder if it will wear the cable prematurely)

If I do need it fixed, what is the broken bit called and can anyone advise on how to approach mending it?

Many thanks!

To fix, visit you LBS and see if they have any scrap rear mechs you can have the cable adjuster from. Remove the old bits, insert new one. In the meantime, keep riding

Maybe a cable adjuster from an old gear shifter would fit too.
Or a replacement ZTTO dropper lever from ebay won't be expensive

If the dropper is still working properly, it shouldn't do any harm to keep riding. The lever isn't a safety critical part, if the cable breaks, the only problem is you'll have to ride without being able to adjust the post on the fly.

As above, the adjuster should be the same as in shifters and rear deraillers, so most mechanics will have a bunch of old spares in their spare parts box.
