Go to A&E, they can at least let you know if it is. Pain in the ass (literally by the sound of it) going but for me, I would go.

If it is displaced there is treatment for it - basically it needs to be manipulated back into place ( in a very uncomfortable manner - I'll leave it to your imagination)

Mrs A did something similar, involuntary ice skating down our front steps. She had and was a pain in the arse for about 6 weeks. And she wouldn't go and get it seen to either.

Get an X-ray, if it's not fractured some osteopaths manipulate them - not nice (done wearing marigolds), but can be vary effective. Make sure they are experienced in doing it.

I never went to the Docs when whacking mine, but it bloody killed for weeks.

Ice? Hot water-bottle? Sit on a cushion? I dunno...

It could be something more serious, get it checked.

Personally I'd drag her down there, my better half tends to think she's invincible when it comes to injuries or illness, this usually means that I have to drive her too/from doctors/hospital with "I told her so" ringing around my head.

Both myself and Mrs Ambrose have experienced the above-mentioned situation- and neither of us saught out proper medical advice/ treatment, merely l'hoping it will get better on its own'. It did get better in the end but there was a LOT of discomfort along the way. NHS direct for advice, take it from there- it's what they are paid for. And at this time of night A+E is possibly pretty empty too.

Not true, and usually just staffed by one or 2 junior docs!
You'd be better off visiting A+E during working hours TBH.

my friend did this and ended up not being able to sit down properly then having to have the pus and septic area, and chipped off bones cut fron his ass and the joys of wearing a pantyliner for weeks as the pus oozed out and the hole in his arese healed.

i recon a trip to a&e is worth it personally.

Yes A&E would be good move. You are correct in that for a simple fracture etc there is nothing that can be done but if its dislocated it can be sorted and if there are complications they can be identified. After that she can expect a few weeks of pain, perching on the arm of the sofa to keep the weight off and walking like riding a horse :). This is based on the experience of coming off a motorbike skiding down the road on my arse and then bouncing up a nice high curb with the momentum 😐

If it heals badly-then she'll have pain all her life.

And physio bills when you could buy a new bike!

Can't buy a new wife?

Get her to A&E to eliminate any problems now.
