I snapped a spoke on my road bike today, and have no experience working with wheels. At the same time, I have already spent my whole bike allowance for, like, the next six months.

How much can I expect to spend at the LBS to get it fixed pronto? Ballpark figures expected.

Is it just a bog standard j bend spoke or a straight pull?

10-20 quid I would have thought for a j bend spoke install and retrue assuming no great other issues with the wheel.

Better if you take the tyre and tube off

If normal spoke £16 , £15 for wheel true and £1 for spoke ( assumes Dt comp or similar ) as little as 25p for a shit spoke. Some odd spokes can be a few pounds more and Somtimes only come in 5s or 10s and some
Shops pass this on and give you the left over ones

£11.70 at your local Halfords, just make sure you speak to the mechanic and not the 16 year old at the till.
