Hi, off to our second visit to Brecon very soon, did the Gap last time we were there , loved it.
We are staying at Penstar bunkhouse, on the OS explorer map OL12. would a route that picks up the taffs trail and runs parallel with the A470 and up to the three reservoirs Beacons,Cantref,Llwyn-on. then over to Pontsticill, then down past the Pontsticill reservoir and onto the Pentwyn reservoir, then down to the Taf Fechan forest and pick up the rest of the Gap route.
It looks a long ride on the map , would appreciate any help with that route or other routes around that area , we are going to do the Sennybridge Red route whilst we are staying.

The last time i did the taff trail alongside the A470, it was a bit pants. There is a lot of streams crossing the trail, most had no elevated way to cross. Most are small, but i got fed up of the front wheel just disappearing down a stream and going over the bars or contacting the stem.
Unless they have worked on it since i last rode it, I'd say suitable for walkers.
