So... to entice me to get on my bike and get into shape I have signed up for the Brecon Beast in September. I have not been on my mtb this year, and have never been further than 20km! Anyone else doing the Brecon Beast or done it in previous years?

I haven’t done it, but I know a few people on here who have. I don’t know what state the event is in now, but it seems attractive. You need to get out more in prep, though, and get some miles under your belt so that it doesn’t come as a shock.

But I guess you know that already which is why you asked. The idea of doing an event, though, is a good incentive.

Have fun riding!

Done it in the past. Will probably do it this year as it may once again be the "last one". Very good reason to get fit, and you will need it if doing the long route as you will be looking at about 6+ hours riding.

Couple of mates have done it yes... I'm certainly considering it as it's the last one. I guess the impression from them, it's exactly what you'd expect. Fire-roady, traily, roady, with a descent into the Gap for some excitement but overall just a long day out of pedalling with some great views 🙂

Done it a few times now, the Gap is great, stunning view all the way to Brecon if the weather is good!
