Just ordered new bike which should arrive in a few weeks and I plan to upgrade the drivetrain immediately

Never dabbled in buying & selling spare parts so just wondering what sort prices are people realistically prepared to pay for as new components

Thinking in terms of % discount off best internet prices

Regardless of whether it's never ridden or not, it'd need to be a decent discount from cheapest online/LBS price as it won't have the warranty.

Not so much of an issue with chains or cassettes, but mechs and certainly shifters can need it.

60-75% of cheapest price would be fair.

Some prices people are paying on ebay can be mad. Just last week I was watching rotors and chainrings. All items were 'new' and 2 of the 3 sold for more than I saw on line and the other was only about £2 cheaper once postage was included. Madness.

I/We've just done this in order to get a better fitting frame for my wife, brand new Trek road bike, decent Alu frame and carbon fork and fits well so we bought the bottom of the range model with the same frame, rebuilt with the Ultegra group from her current bike, so I now have essentially a 'just add frame' Claris 8speed bundle and Bontrager wheels to sell....

I'm expecting to put all the bits up for sale at ~50% of whatever the (already discounted from RRP) price CRC/Wiggle/Merlin/Ribble are charging.

If you're lucky you might get ~75% but I wouldn't hold out hope.

Any time I sell parts, whether Lightly used or barely touched, I go with 50%. Mostly cause I'd not pay more than that myself.

I stripped an SLX drivetrain and Deore brakes off my Intense - rode once around the car park so all but new - put them up on here at 50% of CRC prices and they were all gone in hours.

Could have asked more I guess, or gone to the 'Bay but you do tend to get nice easy sales on here.
