Hi Everyone

Looking for some brakes for my cove stiffee fr. I’m thinking shimano maybe something . Definitely have to hydraulic any suggestions?

That’s quite a wide open question - and I think the first thing to ask is what is your budget?

There’s a big brake thread going at the moment and the top suggestions there seem to be:

Formula Cura 4
Magura MT7
Hope Tech 4 - E4 or V4

Codes are decent too.

Shimano I see too much stuff about failed caliper seals (I’ve had 2 of these myself) and variable bite point with the levers.

If you do want to look at Shimano then deore or slx 4 pots are very strong brakes.

If you’re on a budget then Clark’s M2 or M4 are worth a go. Avoid the M3 though.

There's a fair few what brakes threads opened in the last week - even I had one....

I ended up going for some Magura MT5's from r2 for £130ish... Was looking at the MT7 but couldn't justify the extra cost (they are double the price).

Magura, Formula (cura), Shimano are all mineral oil

Assuming you're not doing anything too nuts on it, Shimano Deore 2-pots will be optimal for your needs IMO.

MT500, MT501, MT6100 are the model numbers I think.
