I have always bought original Hope pads for my brakes, are they paying the extra for them, or are there cheaper better pads out there? Also would you go for sintered ones or not?

always hope orginal sintered for me.

Never had a pad fail
Last a long time
come with new pins springs and clips

i'm what you might call heavy on the brakes , trail centre grit , weeks in the alps ... no problems .

Did we not have this thread earlier today? Ah well, I refer the right honourable gentleman...

I use Superstar kevlar in all my brakes, they're excellent- everything from orrible muddy xc races to torture testing in the endurance downhill (and believe me i braked a LOT!). But Hope's OEM pads are better than most so there's a good case for using them.

Only used them for one ride but the Superstar pads I put in my XTs felt pretty good. Even better that they're only £7 a pair 🙂
