Second xt bottom bracket gone in a year, need something tougher. Anyone used a saint im comparison?
If they're just gumming up, Saint is no better for that, it's a pretty similar bit of kit really. Number one cause of early Shimano BB failure is overtightening the cranks, fwiw...
Gusset EXT24 would be my suggestion- wee bit more expensive, but longer lived, and you can extend that further with a little love as they're somewhat servicable. And then, when the bearings die they take standard ones. Not quite as good as Hope on longevity ime but then they cost about 1/3d as much, and you're not tied into Hope's expensive bearings.
I'm running an XTR one that I bought from Rose Bikes that is holding up pretty well, but I've never had any issues with XT ones ( only Deore). As above yiu need to be really careful not to over preload the bearings.
Thanks, that could be exactly what im doing.
