i have an old frame and the thread in the BB is messed up! so i got home from college one day and find that my brother has glued my bottom bracket, anyway this was a few months back and for now it is holding up, however it is starting to feel loose and i am starting to get scared of it breaking on me, is it possible to get it re-threaded? would i have to get rid of all the glue once i have probably used a hammer to whack out the BB which is in at the moment 😛 anyway i just need some advice on what i should do, thanks 🙂

From what you've said, I guess you have no thread left in your BB shell, this can be repaired by a framebuilder such as Argos Racing Cycles who will ream out the BB shell and fit a threaded sleeve inside, costs around £75.Special BBs are also available, others on here have used them, but i'm not sure who sells them or whether they'll suit your cranks, somebody will probably be along soon with details.
