Blue tyres and CO2 cartridges

This is nothing to to do with any connection between these two subjects, but a similar question for both.

Blue tyres for wheel-on turbo trainers - do they make difference from regular tyres?

CO2 cartridges - Ones sold by bike equipment brands are more expensive than job lots sold elsewhere.  Any difference? 16 grams of CO2 is 16 grams of CO2 surely?  Under £1 each vs about £2-3 for 16 gram threaded ones.

I think the turbo tyre is a harder wearing rubber compound. Pretty sure the co2 is the same, just without the bike branding.

The tyres are a far harder compound so wear less quickly

Zero grip outside

C02 is c02

Turbo tyres are very good if you're doing lots of miles. They also remain consistent in rolling resistance.

Just check the co2 cartridges are threaded

Blue tyres are not always blue or red

Ignore the blue.

Trainer tyres are hard compound and don't wear as fast as normal tyres.

I buy threaded CO2 canisters from a cooking supplies place. Last batch I bought were about 40 quid for 120.

That was so long ago I reckon the price will have doubled by now...

I don't know about blue but I did buy a proper trainer tyre (and a budget spare wheel) after shredding my 'good' tyre when I first got into zwift.

The trainer roller had made my nice tyre go all shiny and flat in the middle and it was getting hot and throwing chunks of rubber off.

The rock hard plasticy trainer tyre fixed it.
