I am 5ft8 with 32inside leg will i be better with a 16inch or 18inch frame? I know ragley website specifies the 18inch is for 5ft10 and over but on ones website specifies the inbred 18inch suitable for my leg length. I think the two frames have similar geometry. I am coming from a road riding background so dont have enough experience with mountain bikes frames to make a decision. Any thoughts greatly received. Jon

I'm 5'9" with a 32" inside leg. I ride a 16" mmmbop, fits really well but I have to use a 400mm seatpost. I tried an 18" it was too big.

Firestarter, how would you compare the ride between both? would you recommend a 16in inbred also over an 18?

simon, thanks sort of convinced now the 16 would be the best option. Only problem was i have the chance of an 18inch at great price so was sort of half hoping, half wanting 18in to be the right size,...damn

I'm 5'9 with a 32" leg. Sat on an 18" and it just felt too big. Sat on the 16 and it felt perfect

I had a 16 inbred too and would think that would suit you too.

I find the pig goes down much better than the inbred by a long way. It also climbs way better on the inbred I was sat almost ontop of the cassette where on the pig I'm much further forward

The only place I found the inbred is better is on a long day out over mixed terrain. The pig excels on up and down bits but less so on flats. That said I ride all day on it and often ride it over my five spot.

I have the same inside leg - 32", but am taller at 5'11". I bought a 16" Blue Pig based on firestarter's posts and it's bang on. I've sat on an 18" Pig and it felt too big, the standover is quite high for the frame size.

I'm just shy of 6foot and went for an 18" mmmbop (same sizing as pig I believe). I like the fit, but it definitely feels longer than my other 18" HT. At 5ft8 I'd be going for the 16.

A pic of each to compare, not too clear but you are sat much more over the crank on the pig. I'm five ten and could prob have got away with an 18 inbred but I found an 18 pig too big

Thanks all for the replies. Will be looking for a 16in now. Like the look of the Blue inbred Firestarter, classy with the white band on the downtube.
