Why exactly? I see loads of posts on here asking how to bleed brakes, but why? Are people accidentally letting air into whatever system they have or what? Or are they just bored & think, 'ah fu*k it, I think I'll bleed me brakes' I've had drybollick discs for, ohh since the first Hope mini's came out & I think I've bled them about..., once, in the Alps. The M4's I've got now have never been bled apart from when I changed the fluid (cos some brake fluid absorbs moisture over time) & they've been to Les Gets & Chatel with no need for bleeding. As an ex motor mechanic I know that car brake fluid should be changed about every 50K or so, cos of the moisture thing, but I don't get the amount of 'how to bleed' thing on here.

changing hose length or similar would facilitate the need for a bleed non?
always found it a p.o.p to do myself.

I'd bought some new ones and some braided hoses and as such had to learn how to do it!

I think you have answered your own question there.

Fair enough but there must be an awful lot of hose changing going on!

Well if you buy a set of brakes chances are you are going to have to shorten the hoses. Avid Juicys seem to need bleeding every 5 minutes as well.
