Does anyone actually know RealMan? If you, please tell him what a complete bell end he has been. If I lived any where near Exeter I'd do it with a healthy kick to his knackers - if he has anything there. I'm not the sort to want to hurt someone but nothing else would give me such satisfaction just now.

I was trying to accept the fact he'd ripped me off on the basis that I have a set of brakes that at least worked well, but it turns out on fitting and trying to bleed them that the seals are ****ed and leaking air / oil.

Do you have a postal address for him? Make a claim through the small claims court.

Swearing, threats of physical violence and accusations of fraud all in one post. It has to be said that even by STW standards that's pretty good going.

This is going to be fun, place your bets.

BANZAI!

Swear filter avoidance from the OP, surely? I got a ban for less. Then again, I suppose I don't feel the need to report everything......

Kettle's on gents, I've got tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There's some caramel digestives. Help yourselves.

So realman is up to some bad stuff? Why oh why do people do this kind of thing? I hope that someone will oblige you Jimmy - he deserves what he gets and I don't mean getting paid for duff gear.

There's other people from Exeter Uni bike club who post on here and buy/sell through the classifieds - could they not ask him to make amends. It's not like his real name and details aren't available via Facebook either.

The op really has my sympathy on this issue.

You're one of those blokes that actually goes out and rides bikes rather than just spending all day reading the forum, aren't you?

Shere drop, nice pint that is.

I also ask why but take solace that it is a small world and justice will be done.

Good luck on getting it sorted. Nowhere near to me though so I can only support from afar.

Approx what time will we be descending into the petty arguing, please? I need to decide whether to put the tea on now or later.

I doubt he'd listen to anyone considering the replies I got from him originally. He knows full well he's got way more money than the brakes are worth but is happy to keep hold of it at the expense of any reputation he might have.

His reputation at uni may be worth more than his one on Stw to him, though?

got that right, Col.

Just drafting a wee note to his club to let him know of the publicity he is generously affording them.

He looks like you'd merely need an old pair of SIDS to pwn him... What a massive idiot - his forum name could only be more ironic if it was HonestJohn.

"Bled and ready to go" he said

Perhaps you should have bought ones that were "Bled and ready to stop"

All the same, take some Bombers for a day out, I hear Exeter is nice at this time of the year. Or, e-mail the Uni Bike Club and tell them you are trying to get in touch with him as he has sold you some brakes that don't work and you don't think e-mails to his account are getting through!!
