I recently enjoyed my first night of wild camping, in an Alpkit Hunka. However, not only was I bitten, but I was "troubled" by hearing the little pests buzzing around my head. Are there any simple solutions for a sort of mosquito net add-on?
I have wondered about the Elan, but it means more money, and is quite big to carry.

I've only ever just put a standalone mozzie head net on .
I also aim to be somewhere with a breeze if they are out.

I've got the Snugpak bag that Alpkit ripped off for the Elan (pic below two weeks ago). I like it but I've never used it in zipped up net mode. Headnet (and laser lite earplugs if the noise bothers you).
I use an Alpkit Elan. I don’t get bitten by mozzies while I’m in it.
Those Alpkit Elans... any good?
I know they have ripped off the Snugpak version but I don't want the Snugpak as my current lightweight bivvy (Snugpak SF) is really poorly made from cheapo materials.
Mozzies or Midge?
If midge.....they do **** off once it's dark so I've been known to get some height to find a breeze and descend to sleep once the sods are off duty.
I switch from a bivvy to a nordisk lofoten 1 which is/was stupidly expensive and a bit compromised if thought of as a tent but a if you were going to carry a bivvy and a 1 man tarp is no heavier/bulkier to carry.
Mozzies or Midge?
Don't make the mistake of wearing a mosquito net as protection against midges either. The holes are big enough to let them in and small enough to discourage them from getting out.
I found the Alpkit elan quite small, and pretty restrictive on my side - I am quite broad though...
