Momentarily felt good that i own two of the bikes on the thread, then realised that them must be both out of date timed-out models 🙁

Are you sure? It's not grey.
No, but the Marin was. 😉
Both of mine are very old school,
Alpinestars Al-Mega XT
And one of those Whyte PRST-1 thingys with the BMW-esque front ends on it.
I suspect I would be disappointed by both.
Whyte 19 Carbon (or a Whyte 20 C).
I always wanted one of these:

But ended up getting this instead (will get an M1 one day just to hang on the wall!):

In fact, just looking at Google Images for Tomac 204 Magnums has made me want another as well! That was a flippin bonkers bike. Weighed a tonne but brilliant!
Bimota SB6, one day maybe 😉
Salsa Juan Solo.
Reissued shiny silver zaskar.
Yeti arc x, or indeed that sc cross bike (?crux?)
as above/page before, trek 69er singlespeed in rootbeer with duc32's
Foes xct5
PRST-1
Orange 5 or Five
Couldn't justify (too tight) the expense.
Loads....
1998 Spesh FSR Extreme (lime green thing with Judy XL's)
Cannondale Super V Freeride (I had an SV500, but the freeride was so much cooler)
1997 Kona Lava Dome
Any of the high end Cannondale hardtails from '97
Santa Cruz Bullitt
2005 Kona Stab (I know they wetent great but that paint job was ace)
Specialzed FSR DH like Palmer had
Sure there's many more too!
How much do Burners go for?
I always wanted:
GT Dhi
Specialized Demo 9
Spooky Metal Head
Intense Tazer
Orange 222
^That's well nice. BMXes always look so much better than MTBs!
Toxicsoks you really are converted aren't you? 🙂
Me, I've always hankered after a 5 spot.
Yeti Ultimate
or a Trimble......
Orange P7. They just look so right, though they seem to do nothing spectacularly well.
Specialized Epic (2005/2006 ish). AGain, just based on looks.
Of course, both have now been superseded on account of the wheels being too small.

I had one of those 😉
Dales in Glasgow had an absolutely gorgeous Klein when I was a kid - deep metallic red, with matching tyres. I lusted after it, kept going to see it - it got dustier and dustier and moved further back in the shop, then one day it was gone...
A mate had a San Andreas when I was about 15 and I wanted one as well, but just couldn't justify it since I really only rode XC
I wanted a Rocky Mountain ETS-X for years, when I got round to buying a new-new bike (as opposed to just a frame and build) I ended up with a Trek Fuel EX 'cause I didn't want to spend the same money on the lowest-spec ETS.
Then D45yth from these parts put up a fame and fork at a price I liked, so now I own one. And it's flamey-patterned. And I loves it. 🙂
Transition tr250. One day, when I can afford it :-O

Not so much a conversion, more of a lean-to, tbh.
