Is the bike show at excel worth the visit?
Was going to go but didn't, told my mate he should go, so he did. I can't repeat what he said about it so I would suggest not to bother
it depends on what you looking for....
If you're looking at buying a new bike and are undersided about what to get, it'll be worth going. (but you wont be able to buy it there)
If you have some cash to spend on parts, are not to fussy and fancy getting a deal, its worth going. (but you'll prob get the same deal or better online)
If you're just going for 'the displays', dont bother, go for a ride instead.
Think of it as a very very large bike shop, with the ocasional promo display.
If you like boats it might be worth a punt though....
IMHO total waste of time and money, ^^^^^ as above go for a ride. Even better take the money you would have spent at the bike show, ticket, fuel, food and a bit of kit and fill up your car and go ride some place you have never been but always fancied.
Me and my dad went yesterday and were pretty disappointed to be honest particularly with the outdoors show. There was lots of free stuff going on like massages and training help but it was basically like a big bike s
hop. The luxury lifestyle and boats thing is impressive particularly if you are filthy rich.
As above. We went with the aim of buying wheels and brakes. Came away with nothing. Very disappointed . Good job I like boats.
i enjoyed it more than the others i have been to in 3 years
Busiest show with the happiest punters I've been to in over 5 years and I have been pretty much to all of them for the last 12 years. I even managed to buy myself some awesome cheese! Oh and bought myself a snowboard jacket for £38 and some Oakley goggles for £30. There's loads of stuff to see. The bike hockey is great fun to watch and there's a 500 ft zip line 🙂
Cheers thought i wouldn't be missing much
so I opted in buying new suite cases with the money saved by not going 😉
I thought it was a really good show and a big improvement on previous years, some nice kit on display - good to see on-one's lineup (and pick up the silly light frames), zipline and awesome cheese as noted above and the Madison stand had some silly cheap samples for sale - picked up a pair of goretex paclite trousers for £15, only disappointment was a lack of womens specific bikes as the other half is looking to buy a new one this year.
