I've got an ancient but very sturdy roof bike rack which has had everything on it from carbon road bikes to downhill.

For the fatties, I just bought long toe straps for the wheels.

Not sure who but I saw a fatty on a thule rack with the standard tyre bits replaced with sections of guttering .

This is what 40mpg meant 😀
