Been looking at spending on bike-packing bags...Revelate's frame bag gives 4-6L, their seat=pack does look nice, but I thought a std dry-sac should do OK on the bars? (both drops and flat).
Any thoughts?
YHA
A 13L drybag should pretty much strap on to any bars (I've run them on drops without any trouble). Revelate seat packs are very nice as are their frame bags but if you can wait a couple of months then Wildcat stuff should be avaliable ... manufactured in Wales so no import duties, less postage and very, very nice.
As for bandwagon Al, some of us have been doing it for years ๐
I use Revelate bags along with an Alpkit Airlok Xtra drybag for the bars. The latter is super cheap & works very well.
How about a bag that is a bike? ๐
Can't see this concept catching on some how.....

Thanks..am aware of that thread HD...I last looked around page 7 when it became a "where shall we ride/camp this weekend thread", I don't fancy trawling 15 pages.
An FAQ / knowledge base would be cool, like they have on other forums... ๐
Indeed...iyt might tell me what YHA means?
I'll take a guess at Youth Hostel!
I did wonder!
Am about to push "order"...
13L for bars...would one strap under the saddle too? Or an 8L?
EDIT ah **** out of stock :@
13l is probably a tad too big as you'll be rubbing your legs on the bag with every pedal stroke.
Ta, thought so.
Maybe an 8L would do and a 5L with stuff crammed in in such a way as to narrow it under the top tube...
I'm pretty sure I use a 13L on the handlebars, but I'll check when I get home later. Alpkit are absolutely terrible for keeping good levels of stock...the price you pay for having great kit at cheap prices I guess.
Does anyone else do a similar product?
yeah quite a few. from a quick google...

etc etc. I like the Alpkit ones though as they have the loops for keeping straps in place.
Aye loops are crucial - that's what I was meaning.
cheaper...
ok I'm googled out now
Bah. The cheap source has dried up, any one know of another?
Will chase alpkit meantime.
