Just a quick question.
Been faffing around for a while trying to find a setup for running in the night, and been going back and forth from torches stuck to my head to bike lights mounted to my camelback straps...
Atm looking at trying a bike light mounted to my camelback shoulder strap as that seems like it could work well for when i run.
Question is, bike light wise i was going to go for a magicshine from Dealexstreame ie china, but it seems their prices arent any cheaper than buying from UK supplier ie magicshineuk ....
Does this seem repersent good value

Actually 5 quid cheaper than the china site suprise suprise..
Still too expensive. These companies are (I think) all just resellers, not much to choose between them. Torchy has them for only £80 or you could go to an A N Other ebay seller for less.
What are you after blabla. I have a stock of lights and batteries now so if you only need the light or even both please let me know.
How do you manage to secure it secure enough so it doesn't wobble on your camelbak whilst running? Please feel free to email and I will try and help you out.

Im going for a test run with my T6 Cree XML mounted to my camelback shoulder strap this weekend to see how it performs.
I have thought about torch set-up but after looking into it there isnt really any torches that are small enough/light enough to run with, that also give a decent amount of light/flood.
Those that do are very exspencive ie £70 for a T6 style torch with headstrap is crazy.
On the link i posted, yes they are resellers but given that the china site is selling the exact same magicshine for £94 so more than the reseller it doesnt make much sense to me to try import it given that i wont be saving any money.......
Ofc if i find another method again maybe torches then im up for that but i just thought that sticking to what i know that works would be best ie bike light adapted to camelback.

What I meant was, they're all resellers so why pick an expensive reseller?
I had a look on ebay and the avg price of the cheapest was around £78 quid so £10 cheaper but still going to keep looking.
Out of interest though if i did go for a magicshine MJ-872 should i replace the batteries as i know the standard ones arent great and i dont think many sellers sell the "quality batteries" from what i see(bar the insanely overpriced ones)
lastly, i hear there is a new Magicshine MJ- the 874 is that worth getting over the 72?
I'm in the process of launching a new twin XM-L U2 light and should receive my first stock of the latest production version next week.
It's a genuine 1400 lumens on boost (unlike all the Chinese lights theoretical outputs) and the light head only weighs 79g and it the size of a matchbox. It has 2 optics - one for flood and one for throw.
It comes with a proper head strap (round the head and over the top) which the light mounts on to the front of. The mount also lends itself to strapping to a shoulder strap.
It has a 5.8 AH Lithium Ion Hard Case Battery with Panasonic cells.
You can change the operating modes to suit usage. The 4 modes have preset levels to suit each activity - Commuting/road cycling, Mountain Biking, Adventure racing/trail running and finally Hunting/Farming.
I'll be sending one in to STW towers when the new version arrives to test/review. I'll also ask nicely if they'll support a STW forum user special offer with an offer code.
^^ sounds good, i very much interested in the XML-U2 light as it lends itself very well for headmounts given its size but finding suppiers is quite hard i have found and most of the U2 lights are torch mounted not case mounted which isnt good for running with.
keep us informed:)
There are plenty on Ebay and other sites like this:

.
In terms of replacing the battery, if you get the MJ-828 battery as both of those links are, its waterproof so you shouldn't need to do anything. With the older ones in the rubber bag you'd need to waterproof them yourself.
