Going on my hols there in the summer (as well as loads of other Canada type places). Banned from taking my own bike with me by the missus. Does anyone know of a good bike hire place that does top qual full sues hire for sasquatch sized folks (over 6 4 so need a big bike)?

We use Summit Sport for our rentals. They have Rocky Mountain (Element XC, Flatline DH.

Whistler has a dozen or so rental stores renting everything.
Most stores carry 1 DH and 1 xc model across all size ranges.

I think I used Summit. £25-30 a day IIRC in 2007, for an ETS. Speak nicely to them and they'll swap the levers 😀

AMAZING riding there.

Lucky! Wish i could be there this summer. there are loads of hire places around so you should be fine, think they're all quite expensive though.. For me it was £60 return to get my bike on the plane, just depends whether you want the hassle though!

I'm jealous too, wish I was going back this year. As above, you can't walk 20m through the village without seeing a bike shop. Have a blast.

Another vote for Summit Cycles, swung by after a conference 2 years ago just as the park opened. Was handed a brand new, out of package RM A-line.

Wonderfull guys, great prices 🙂

Summit Cycles hire out Rocky Mountains, the bike park are hiring out Giant bikes this year, ticket2ridebc.com rent out commencals, there's also Fanatik plus lots of others in the village.

It will cost you £60/day min to hire, extra if you take out accident cover. If you can persuade the wife, it's only ~ £40 to take your bike on the plane

Unless you like throwing money down the drain, I'd bring your own bike.

As above, it's expensive but you won't be short of options. We used the wee place by Lost Lake - Cross Country Connection - because they were very close to where we stayed (Chalet Luise). They did us a multi-day discount and were happy to let us take DH bikes one day and trail bikes the next, and were reasonably tolerant of us swapping brake levers and pedals!

What's your missus' rationale? If it's for a week and you want a nice bike it's pricey
