Looks like it will be a nice day tomorrow so we are going to take the tandem over to Cirencester but the only bike friendly B&B we have found haven't replied to Tel call, any suggestions? Haven't resorted to air b&b yet as can't imagine many places would want some tired cold sweaty tandemists for just one night 😳

Bit further away but Maunditts House near Malmsbury

Plenty of accommodation dotted around in Ciren if that’s not been discounted. The Premier Inn handily backs on to an estate which gives access to the flatlands around the lakes.

I live in Cirencester, if you want to leave your bike in our garage you're very welcome.

Bear in mind that Ciren is currently in the middle of Slushmageddon after a couple of inches of snow overnight, and it's due to freeze tonight so the roads could be 'interesting'.

What was the B&B you found?

We've tried various so far some are booked out or only twinrooms or too expensive (£90 max is what we are aiming for), Malmsbury turns a 60miler into a 70miler which might be a bit far given IHN's comments about the road conditions 😕

Where you coming from?

Looking outside, main roads are clearing pretty quickly and will probably be fine by tomorrow, side roads might be trickier.

There's a Travelodge in town and a Premier Inn, they might have deals on. The garage offer stands.

Cheers IHN, cycling on main roads is never pleasant let alone in this weather and it would only be our second trip on our new to us tandem, so gonna take the sensible option & break in our new walking boots instead tomorrow & stay in the chilterns

I won't deny that that is probably the better option 🙂

Let us know if you re-plan the trip at any point, can store your bike for you no probs.
