Someone mentioned a the possibilty of a bike jumble as well. Setup a table to sell your stuff but you make a minimum donation to UK Youth.

My name is automatically down Pete. Will give monies in a couple of weeks though after Wales trip.

Can they fix the sofa for next year?

Any ideas for next year are more than welcome folks; it's your event. Get involved.

Pete, let me know if you want some ££££ to cover it. 🙂

That's a great idea!
Although, having seen a big bike jumble, we don't want the professional traders turning up IMO. They'll swamp the place.

First time at BBB and only because Nacho told us about it. Toddler Kip (16 months) was filthy all weekend, probably ate a large amount of the pine tree floor, loved the hay bales and had a whale of a time!
We will be back next year but hopefully with more of us.
Please keep this as an ad-hoc family event...we loved the concept that a "race" would take place sometime on the day advertised but not necessarily at the time specified!
Hopefully scoot bike will be on the cards for Toddler Kip, we can't wait 😀
The only thing I'd like to see different is the lake jump...I would've loved to try it but I'm a big wuss (too many injuries create too much fear of pain!). The run-in really put me off and I've never done anything like it before. Perhaps a "training" session the day before or smaller jump for wusses like me to practice on?
All in all top time had by all though.
Cheers 🙂

Brilliant! Just a ramp to propel us rather than a proper jump ramp - even I'd do it then! 😀

The relay on the short course would be a good idea, but rather than teams of 4 friends how about pulling names out of a hat to form the teams? That way you should get a fair mix of people in each team (should give more people a chance to get on the podium), and no one needs to worry about sorting out a team of four.

NO PROFESSIONAL BIKE JUMBLE - party goers only if we decide to do it.

Practice Lake Jump - Good idea but a pain to do as we need to make the jump, make it secure, take it down, put up the new one, make it secure, make sure we have people fort the safety boats etc...

It is already nearly 2 hours on Sunday. The run in was sketchy as hell this year as the rain on Thursday basically washed all of the gravel into the lake. It was only save by Dave refilling the river bed to make some kind of run in and then walking over it with a packer plate tha made it vaguely rideable.

Anyway MTFU! we had a ten year old girl do it this year!

Great idea Jason ref the race, we would get to meet more new people as well! Aand Kip ref the practice for the lake jump, maybe I'd give it a go as well with the smaller ramp!

There will be (and was) jump training available. With regards to a smaller ramp, just grow bigger balls!

You have a year.

Are you trying to win the BAD PARENTING award from the lady who pushed her kid over the ramp into a full face plant?

It's not bad parenting it's just "toughening them up".

Hoop of fire at the end of the ramp? Wouldn't make any odds to me - I bottled it as it was but would make it more interesting for the others?

Louis suggested a flaming log in front of the lake jump at the first risk assessment. He is the risk assessment officer!

Keep that quiet and don't put it on the internet

Ok - the lake jump!

Amy, my 11 year old daughter, did it! I was really shocked to see her lining up! I had no choice as I was the fat bloke in the water pulling the bikes out for the kids...... but she did it! I am well proud!

Oh that was your daughter, Cider?

She looked well pleased with herself when she came past us just afterwards, with all the crowd cheering and clapping her. Already a BBB legend! 🙂

I want to see Team Sumo at BBB next year...

Olympic theme to it next year? Or like the 70's series Superstars find an overall winner from several events over the weekend?

We've already had the bit like Superstars where someone [url=

wobbled and crashed his bike on a gravel track, brushed himself off and did it again, except for he didn't have bad hair and stunk of Brut aftershave

You'd need to email the Director of Colouring In to discuss any ideas of that nature.... 😉

Superstars? T'was the legendary Kevin Keegan!

You know you fancied him...

I have a photo of the bruises on the bloke who crashed. If I can get them off my phone I will post them up.

The poor sucker only came along for the beer and to help out.

What about an individual 'persuit' race . Either round a square course , or on the kiddies short course.
Riders start opposite each other and go round say 4 laps, fist over line wins .
Simple elimination process , next round 5 laps , then 6 and so on .
Laps should take less than a minute . Whole event should take no more than an hour and be good to watch and take part in.

Keep the ideas coming!

What about demolition pursuit? Two riders both start at the same point but facing opposite directions. Who ever returns to the arena is the winner and is allowed to live.

I am keeping a list of possible new events.

The other thing is just to run the events your selves when you are there. That's how the pyjama races happened this year. Three girls said they wanted a pyjama race so I put them in charge of organising it.
