Right. Had my first big off today for quite a while and took a good knock to the knee. After so many years riding without them its time to get some knee pads. Want something that are light enough to wear all the time and keeps nice a free movement. What are peoples favorites at the moment
Was thinking either
Dainese Trail Skins
Troy Lee Designs KG
iXS Flow Pads
I've got fairly skinny legs so need to think about that as well. I know it comes down to personal fit but what are peoples recommendations based on comfort but also build quality
Cheers guys
POC VPD Air are highly thought of. Personally, I really like my Alpinestars Paragons.
IXS FLow's are nice - I used some in the Alps solidly for a couple of weeks.
I'd throw the Bliss ARG's into the mix as well. So comfy I wear them pretty much every ride out of habit now. Even if a rise is t really 'gnar' enough to warrant them.
Obviously a lot of this is down to fit but I'd definitely try and find a pair to try on.
I couldn't get a comfy fit from the trail skins but that may have been my fault for going with a small, the Velcro just snagged on my skin. Not a great design choice from Dainese either way though.
Now got the IXS Flows and they suit me a lot better.
I prefer the padding style and fit of the trail skins so if you can get on with the rear arrangement then they could be a good choice.
