Hi, got a few week off shortly looking for a nice place to stay in the lake district pref near a trail center that has family trails to take my girlfirend and 14 month old son on the back of the bike in his trailer 🙂 where are the best hotels/cottages/ to stay at ta!

Have you thought about Youth Hostels. Most have family rooms, the restaurants are normally good quality and in-expensive. There are loads to choose from in the Lakes so you can change location easily. I have stayed at Conniston and Hawkeshead recently and they where excellent.
