Hi
Couple questions?
Best sites to buy new wheels? Thinking hope hubs/mavic rims maybe?
Also..
Which headset for a Nukeproof Mega to take tapered forks?
Cheers all

Due to the (daft?) spec of 44mm headtube, I think your pretty much limited to Nukeproofs own headset range. More are available, but seem to be harder to come by.

I've always used Merlin for wheels, decent price on Hope Hoops and if none of them suit, will custom build whatever you want.

Headsets: Nukeproof 44IETS, Hope Pick & mix 2 (upper) and H (Lower) will both do the job.

For the headset, follow the S.H.I.S spec and use whatever you want that matches it.

S.H.I.S. Top Cup / Bottom Cup: ZS44/28.6 - EC44/40

Try moonglu as well

Heard good reports about em - real world experience says their handbuilt stuff is very good

DONT buy a Nuke Proof headset, poor quality and crap sealing. For very little more, Hope are FAR better ๐Ÿ˜‰

Try Harry Rowland, he taught me to build wheels, he builds exceptional wheels and is certainly worth a call

Hope Hoops 20% off @ Winstanleys. I've got Arch EX's on my Mega and I'm 92kg. I haven't managed to put them out of shape yet 8)

Hope hoops on stans rims are usually a great value option, always worth a look.

Yep, EC44 lower cup/bearing is what you need.

Wheels - JRA, Merlin.

Wheel choice depends on your riding; I've just replaced an Arch Ex as it buckled but it was a heavy landing off a 6ft gap jump to flat ๐Ÿ™‚

Latest Nukeproof headsets are much better than the older ones. I've just removed one from a frame after 6 months and the grease was still pink.

Hope do appropriate headsets.
As do loads of other brands.

+1 for Moonglu wheels .. Neil built me a very light set of stans alpha on 24/24 hope hubs as I'm quite light for road use..
1300g or so.. Sold them onto a mate of a mate (as I went 11 speed) no hope freehub available at the time..

Found out the guy raced cx on them and the three peaks ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Must be good ๐Ÿ™‚

Also Check out "the spoked wheel" good range and price
