Hi,

Heading to the north east for a spot of riding next week.

Sandstone way, probably a loop around the Cheviots

Anyhow my question is does anyone know where I could leave the car for a week in reasonable safety and for reasonable cost in Berwick upon Tweed please.

Thanks

There’s a couple of industrial estates where it would probably be Ok, safety wise may be fine it’s not a massive crime ridden area but of course still has risks.

There is a free 'long term'car park in the middle of the town that I don't think has a time limit. Parking in Berwick can be a little confusing for the unaware. A couple of years ago all parking charges in the town were removed in an effort to get people in to the town rather than just going to the many large edge of town supermarkets. However, you have to buy a silly paper / cardboard clock once (for £3.00 if I remember correctly) to show how long you've been parked because even though there are no parking charges the parking time restrictions remain!

I haven't parked in it for a while, but I'm pretty sure the long term car park doesn't need the clock to be displayed so you can leave a car for as long as you want. It's  a busy area of the town, and joined to a short term car park so you should be safe enough. As Drac said, it's not a crime ridden area but obviously take the usual precautions.

The parking discs are £1 not sure about the all day car park no idea if it gets checked for ‘abuse’ so didn’t suggest that one, could be worth checking out though.

Thanks all.

I parked on Spittal Main Street a few weeks ago to go south on Coast and Castles and North on the Sandstone Way.

You're over-thinking/over-planning unless you drive the bat mobile or some other motor of unusual interest and vulnerability.

Actually that’s not a bad call.
