i'm going to be up near ben wyvis next weekend and was thinking of heading up there on my bike (weather depending...) Trying to find routes - anyone have any details? is the walkers path from garve the best way up?
ta muchly
There's not a lot in Garve - not even a post office/ shop.
little Garve ( just past Gorstan on A835) is good starting place

Watch the water bars coming down - snake bitetastic.
If the snows / mist /rain lets you its worth cutting across to little wyvis too - 'look where I've been' and great switch backs - Andrew Allen's -manages the hill -owns the deer herd - he's a nice guy but and won't take to kindly if you come too low and bother them.
Gordymac did a write up of a big loop here
scroll down the news page a bit.
cheers - i meant going up from garbat, like in steve fallon's route. so, is it all dead easy, given gordymac went up on a crosser?
I'll be staying in evanton so i could do the big loop...
From what im seeing from my window, it's pretty heavy with snow atm.
I was gonna say - I was driving past on Wednesday (from the West) and there was a fair amount of snow.

Should see what it can ride over ๐ It is only limited by my lack of ability.

Plenty good riding near Ben Wyvis without going up it. Check with Square Wheels in Strathpeffer for some good trail maps.
