The chevin, where to an from. Looking for some new rides locally an this gets mentioned by a few people now'n again! Any routes to offer up?? Cheers.
From Kilburn; my doorstep route tends to be out through Drum Hill woods - up through Coxbench into Holbrook and down the path coming out at the Holly Bush at Mackney - across the A6 and up and over the Chevin - come out near the Blue Bell pub, and head to the little church at the end of Goodwins lane, right there down Over lane, to the right onto the private road/ restricted bridalway on Lumb Lane (despite the signs you do have the right of way), down there to cross the A517 and head up Longwalls Lane which becomes trail up till it's road again, and then up Belper Road until I get into Shining Cliff Woods (usually down Higg lane), loop the woods for a bit and then usually head up Spanker Hill to get home. You also have Crich Chase to add on if you want to. Cleary there are some road bits linking up the off road bits, but I can't see how you can avoid this and there is some great fun off road to be had. The Chevin really is just a little bit of this.

Yeah I know the cliff woods like "t back of hand" and link it with black rocks and back along the canal for a 15 miler. Didn't want to get on the chevin and just end up riding back along the a6 to belper.

It's definitely getting more popular up there!! Saw a group of 20 or so a few weeks back which Im not sure is a good thing. Also I believe there was a competition of some sort about a month ago on the off piste stuff??
Only 2 of us tonight,bit cheeky i know.
