Ive got a 2006 truvativ stylo chainset and cranks. The BB has had it. Do I have to get a truvativ one or can i buy Shimano, Hope, Chris King etc.
If its lasted four years, then I'd be inclined to stick with the same anyway. They're only twenty quid on CRC

I wish I'd had a bottom bracket last four years. A few of mine have lasted that many weeks
You can only use Truvativ GXP or Hope with the adapters, which are easy to fit.
I agree. If you have had that long out of one, I would be happy! But if you fancy a change, I am running a Hope with SRAM XX and so far so good.
If it is GXP and its just the bearings that have given up then you could just get new bearings.
Good advice chaps. How can i find out the bearing sizes. I'm thinking i could buy some better quality bearings and fit in the same cups.
Might also look at the hope adapters. Hmmmm
This Enduro guide is fairly good but you do not need the fancy tools
as you can see, just reuse the reducer /adaper.
The HOPE adapter is for anyone that does not already have a BB to reuse the reducer from.

Any bearings are better than Truvativ bearings.
There are various thoughts on external BBs.
