Dougie Vipond is doing a report on the "Strathpuffer".. lets hope he manages to do more than half a lap that he did last year before he fell off and was rushed to Raigmore Hospital In Inverness... 8)

The good news for Dougie is that he now has the lap record for the puffer, 1 year and running. He didn't pass the start line again and so his time is still running.

Anyone here ever finished that? Do you have to ride the full 24 hours? Or is it a team relay?

It's solo, teams of 2, or teams of 4. Done it solo 6 times.

Ride as long as you like. They count the laps and your time.

Otherwise it would be a bit silly if someone like myself who is slow could complete the 24 hours and beat someone who had done more laps but pulled out after 15 hours.

Feeling a bit nervous as rather than filming a team from the presenters, one of the teams they followed were me and my pal Roberta riding as The Minx Girls on Ice. Haven't seen the finished article, so a bit trepidatious about having said something numptyish. The promo clip wasn't too bad, the up the nostrils on-the-bar-cam shot wasn't too unflattering...

I'll take this opportunity to thank Debbie Burton at Minx for furnishing us with our super cool Minx kit ๐Ÿ™‚

No autographs please, I'm resting.... ๐Ÿ˜‰

'Wonders of the Universe' is on BBC2 at 7pm tonight according to my sky+ guide?

When is the Adventure Show on then?

Edit - Ahhh, BBC2 Scotland. Is that available on Sky like all the regional BBC1 channels?

Still not on the iplayer - getting annoyed now! The crap cooking programme that's been on since on 2 is currently available! Discrimenation I tell you! Or maybe the BBC are using Mac's and it's all understandable ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was also on sky channel 990 (just in case it is repeated at any time) which is BBC Scotland. I never knew i had that channel on sky.

Enjoyed watching it, shame that mountain biking never really translates that well on to TV, it always looks slower and less steep than it really is.

Fair play to all the competitors though. Good bit of TV exposure for Singular Cycles. ๐Ÿ™‚

It is fun and mad at the same time. Great atmosphere and camaraderie. I have been support crew twice and "raced" as a soloist once. I doubt I will enter again but to do it once was great.

Really interesting to see how all the bits go together to make the whole. How they mix audio from one bit of film with different footage. There was way more of up than we thought there'd be. It was watched by both myself and Roberta like it was kids watching an episode of Dr who.... cringing with hands over eyes and through the cracks between our fingers ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

You guys came over well although when you came in off one lap there was a "don't speak to me or I will kill you" look in your eye

I thought it was great to see real people out doing something pretty mental. I do like to see the World Cup and stuff on the telly but it was great publicity for our sport with 'normal' people involved, not just superfit pros. Seeing how knackered everybody looked at the end made me think, I need to give this a go.

I'm in it, looking shattered (right at the start of the show too- the cheek of them, putting my "morning after" laps in like I've just started ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Wot Dot said- we were 2nd mixed pair/8th and they didn't break down the pairs results like that. Boo!

Dunno about anyone else but I found that uncomfortable viewing- the memory of the icy climb, the constant fear of a wipeout on that ice. *shudder*

I loved the shell-shocked look of the winning soloist, especially when he was asked if he would be doing it again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Was in it very briefly, just finish one of my late laps coming in in the pitch black. Uncle was in it more, the blue helmet in the background hen the results were being shown and also my little bro just before he decked it running up to his bike.

I actually enjoyed riding up that fire road to begin with, it was quicker than it was towards the end and fairly easy going, just had to keep it nice and steady.

Looking forward to it next year already, wouldn't mind doing it as a pair, just need to convince some other fool to join in the madness with me ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a possibility that TripleEcho (the production company) will be bringing out the Adventure Shows to DVD. Find them on Facebook and let them know what you would interested in. The are just putting out feelers to gauge interest.
