what are the main differneces between these two brakes? and does anyone use BB5's ?

pad size.adjustability. I've used both,stick with 7's now.

On the 7s you can adjust both the inner and outer pads independently. On the 5s just the (I think) outer.

I use 5's, pretty good really. With 7's you can adjust the moving pad which makes set up a bit easier.

More than that I think the BB7's are an adequate substitute for good hydaulics. Couldn't say the same for bb5's!

Used both. Agree with pretty much all of the above and like others tend to stick with the BB7.
