Looking at a new frame and it has a pressfit BB30 bottom bracket shell. Do I need special BB30 cranks or are they the same diameter centre hole as Hollowtech 2 bottom brackets?

you can get an adapter by kcnc to run a shimano crank. different axle size between the two
I have an FSA Afterburner in mine which is ace ๐
What frame you looking at?

BB30 cranks use a 30mm diameter axle to increase stiffness, the (large) bearings press directly into the frame. You can get and adapter that presses into the frame to allow you to run normal cranks but then you're back to smaller axle diameters and any problems associated with HT2 bearings.
I've been using BB30 on my Whyte 19 Ti for a couple of years now without the slightest problem.
