Afternoon all.
I recently purchased a Stumpy 29er. I love it, but as always the bb30 Press fit bottom bracket has died rather quickly.
I just need some help getting it out. Park make a specific tool but no one in the UK has it. I was thinking of using a headset ****ter but not sure if its safe to do so.
Some people talk of using a broom handle some of a metal pole.
If anyone out there has performed this procedure recently I would lot to know what you did.
Thanks
Bill

They should tap out quite easily. broom handle, wide drift or bar. a heavy rubber mallet is good to give a hefty blow.
Can be refitted with a headset press, but they are no where near a tight as a headset to fit.
Parkers were doing the bearing (Durace) for £24.
Also i've not pulled one apart but some say you can swop the bearings out. i'll be having a look, would be interested to here how people have gotten on.
Can you get an adapter to run a normal BB?
i can get you the park tool bb30 tool £39 off the top of my head
