Went to see it, thought it was ok even though I simply couldn't believe that a few old timers got the USS Missouri up & running in 10 minutes flat ๐Ÿ™„
( I believed the rest though!)

Anyone else seen it & what did you reckon?

I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not,
but you did know that the film is based on the board game,
hence the "fire missile at E6"

there was so much wrong with the film but it knew what it was a dumb film and it was fun

ps i think i can see rhianna on G6

Ok ok, I'll come clean. I didn't even know it was based on the game till the credits came up. But come on guys, I'm 55 & don't have a lot of contact with kids (thank ****. I hate kids me)
Anyway, I thought the film was reasonable, but not as good as the Chinese buffet we had afterwards.

It was the first film I've ever considered walking out of.

Although I did Google Brooklyn Decker when I got home.

Just googled Brooklyn Decker. I'm guessing that many bikini shots on the first page of google images doesn't constitute to her being a great actress.

The few reviews of the film I've seen have basically said its the worst film created since the dawn of mankind. Think I'll be giving it a miss.

From the makers of 'Transformers 1,2 and 3'. Michael bay isn't directing so it does have that saving grace but still, I think I'll give it a miss.

Can it really be worse than "My Best Friend's Wedding" or "2012"?

It would take an effort of Ed Wood proportions to make this happen.

Picture the scene: the world is under threat from aliens. A joint American and Japanese crew have just lost their last destroyer inside an inpenetrable (sp?) barrier set-up by said aliens. Their last option is to get a 30 years mothballed floating museum of a battleship up and running.

As luck would have it, a motley crew of retired sailors strike YMCA poses all over the boat in the hour of need, the engines fire up first time and someone had fortunately/carelessly left several live 1000lb shells on board. And some fuel for the boiler. And the guns uncapped (which all worked faultlessly after 10 mins of fiddling and some WD40). And all the comms in working order.

Phew! This means the world can be saved (after hand-brake/anchor-drop turning the battleship to line-up for the alien death blow) by a crew of approximately 10, half of whom have never actually been on a battleship before, which is the size of a small town.

Apart from that it was dead realistic.

You mean....it's not based on a true story? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Still better than Kate & Leo in 3D IMO (I was dragged by the previous missus 7 times to see that crap - what a waste of precious life) ๐Ÿ™„

Can we discuss the important part of the film please:

Does Rihanna look good in it?

Does she wear a cap all the way through so you can't see her MASSIVE forehead? I've heard her speaking part involves about 3 sentences.

It's all part of the U571 "true story". ๐Ÿ˜‰

after hand-brake/anchor-drop turning the battleship to line-up for the alien death blow) by a crew of approximately 10

I actually burst out laughing at that point but my Mrs whispered, 'could they do that?'

Which made me laugh some more!

They really droppd the anchor to make a tens/hundreds of thousands of tonnes of warship 'handbrake' turn?

I watched Attack The Block the other night or whatever its called and its the worst film I've ever seen. But this sounds like it'd give it a real run for its money.

U571 - yes, its wrong but its a good film (IMHO).

Not according to the quizmaster of a pub quiz I entered some years ago.

Q: Name an underground weapon.

Our answer: landmine.
Answer on card: submarine

Argument ensued, I lost because... it was the answer on the card.
I hate morons
