I bought some Kellogs, Strawberry ones, they're ok, not filling enough though! I've had 3 this morning and I'm still starving! They are not a good substitute for Weetabix!

Tesco round from the shoppe has them. If you can get in to the shoppe quickly, you might even find one on the back shelf you could nab....

home made ones ๐Ÿ™‚

Makes 10 big chunks, or about 30 cereal bars
200g oats
150g dried fruit,
3heaped table spoons of suggar (makes it sweet and better for MTBing, reduce if you want them more savoury)
3 heaped table spoons of syrup (ditto as per sugar, but you need this to bind it together so get rid of the sugar first)
75g omega 3 mix from Holland barrat (mainly sesame seeds, etc)
100g mixed nuts (brazil, hazel, wall, etc)
1 egg, beaten
a little oil (about 30g)

chop the fruit with a little water in a food processor, but not for too long, it doesnt need to be pulped, just very fine so the suggars and juices can run out.

warm (not very hot) the oil in a very big saucepan
add the suggar and fruit and a dash of water, syrup, stir untill its dissolved together, don't heat too much or it will burn very quickly.

Add the oats, nuts, seeds and stir untill its all coated. Keep kneeding it in the pan (with a wooden spoon obviously) untill its warmed through.

add the egg and stir it in quickly, this makes it solid and gives it a nice shine on top once cooked.

Transfer the mix to a big (pre greased) tray/dish, level it out and cook for 25-40min untill the tops golden and the tips of any oats sticking up are just begining to brown.

Remove form oven, allow to cool a little then cut into pices and transfer to a airtight container and put out of arms reach or itll be gone by the morning!

Cereal bars are a rip-off in my opinion. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to make some myself. Fortunately Morrisons sell 5 decent sized flapjacks for a pound. Nomyomyom.
