for a trail bike
is there a rule of thumb, similar to (I think) 6cm drop from saddle to bars for a road bike?
obviously down to preference, but what would the bike set up peeps aim for?

No rule of thumb as we are all generally a different shape.

Used to drop my seatpost by 50% from its optimal pedalling height for trail duty, more if I knew it was going to get sketchy.
Now I have a reverb 🙂
