I've decided to switch to AXS on a couple of bikes. I have a GX Transmission rear mech on one and a Rival AXS (which bolts to a normal mech hanger) on the other. Merlin is selling two different controllers which are about the same price, a GX AXS one with a rocker for £60 or a Reverb one with two separate buttons for £63. Both are right hand, both seem to have two functions (one button for one thing, another button for something else).

Is there any reason why the Reverb one is Reverb specific? It looks the same as this GX shifter-

Could I use the Reverb one with a rear mech?
Yep no problem
Could be worth checking with Merlin that the picture matches the product. I thought the Reverb specific controllers only had one button unlike two button job pictured.

there are 2 button LH reverb controllers per the below, assume there are RH ones too.
Weirdly, I got that from Merlin too.
Both will work, the first link is the original GX controller but will operate a Reverb (assuming you want to control the seat post from the righthand side of course).
