Can anyone offer any advice regarding the fitting of my Avid Juicy 7 (185mm rotor) front brake to the international standard mount on my shiver sc forks.
The brake came off a post mount fox fork so I need to get the correct adapter. I tried the one from my sisters juicy 5 (185mm rotor) which fit the disk fine but there was about 5mm gap between the adaptor and fork mount. Is this gap too big or can I just shim it with washers?
I think this is the part I need http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=13721.
I would normally go to my lbs but they want 12.99 for the adapter, this has made me question if there is another mount that I haven’t seen on the web

Many thanks

Andy

I don't think that the 180 adapter above will fit a 185 disc but the one you found on CRC should do the trick. As per your original question, shimming with washers should work. When I changed from PM forks to a Lefty with a 180 front disc, which has IS, I had to use a 160 rear adapter. My only problem was that I found I that the PM bolts are a bit too long. Not so long that they foul anything so I just live with it.

I just rang my lbs up now i know the correct adapter and they have one in stock for £7.
annoyingly it looks like i have got to buy a set of cps bolts and washers as the inverted cups on mine have cracked.

Thanks for the advice

Andy
