The rear BB7 on my commuter is totally seized and corroded after two winters and beyond fixing, no one seems to have any 160mm sets in stock. Anyone know where I could get one without waiting? I'm guessing the only difference with the 140mm is the calliper bracket and obviously rotor size?

Trevor.

As Avid use Post Mounts and always have, you are indeed correct, the calipers are all the same and only the mount bracket and rotor are the same.

Any bike shop with a Fisher's account can get hold of one for you as they distribute SRAM.

Send it to me and I will either fix it or destroy it depending on what method of unseizing is used!

I was searching for a long time for some 160s and also found no where with them in stock. Earliest delviery I found was May! Settled for some of Shimano's new 105s instead.

It is just the mount and rotor you'd need, the callipers are exactly the same no matter the size of the rotor.

Last time I looked there were a few of the road callipers on ebay.

Do you want a 160 and can only find 140's?
If you get a 140 I will swap my unused 160 disc for your 140. I could only get 160's at the time and needed one 140 so carried on using an older disc.

It's the caliper and fixing bolts that have really corroded, to a point where one of the pistons will not now move, I've rounded off the bolt trying to adjust it. The rotor is fine and I obviously have the bracket. Probably buy a 140 brake and use the bracket I have. Mattsscm, if it comes with a 140 rotor I'll get in touch with a view to a swap for the 160 rotor.

Cheers.
