I don't get the chance to commute very often, but my kids are off school an my wife is at home this week so the singlespeed is getting a rare outing.
It's a joy, riding through quiet streets and pathways with lottle or no traffic. But it's all accompanied by my BB7 brake (mainly the rear) rattling constantly, and the racket does my nut. Any easy cures for this? Everything is aligned and adjusted but theres a bit of play in the rocker arm that I assume is the cause
We've used BB7 for years, on a number of bikes - none have ever rattled - are these "geniune" BB7 or could they be knock off ones?
Is the metal pad "spreader" spring still in place, between the pads?
Is there the chromed metal clip still in place on the "top" of the caliper?
See this pic (if linky works):

Clip in place. Doing a bit of googling, it seems the spring losing it's tension might be a cause.
Fresh pads and a new sping might be the way to go then
As for knock off... well, they came from EBay... ๐
