Finally managed to get a job offer, water industry estimating engineer (my field). So keep plugging guys, you will ge there! Long commute, Stoke to Rugby but as I will be using the train at least it means tha I get to cycle to and from the station at my end.

Nowjust have to sort out the debys that 4 months of joblessness and no payout by my Payment Protection Insurance has left!

Oh joy!

****ing hell boys, you aren't filling me with confidence about your payment protection here.....worried about mine now (still in job at the minute but looking ropey) - what's the score ? (mines with Alliance & Leicester - who were v prompt to write to me last month to tell me that my premium had gone up due to them not being able to cope with the demand/new claims that were being made)

Well done
Had an offer myself today ๐Ÿ˜€ although the commute sounds about the same as yours (except without the train) so it looks like weekday lodging will be the order of the day.
Good luck everyone else

I have a payment protection policy that i didn't ask for, i put a claim in for miss-selling a while ago. More recently when i heard i was being made redundant i worked out that when i actually get made redundant the cost of the protection would be the same as the outstanding loan...

Just have to hope the ombudsman rules in my favour.

Nice one speaker2animals. Hope the job works out alright for you.

I start my new job a week on Monday, after about the same amount of time on the Rock'n'Roll as you by the sounds of things. In similarly ridiculous debt right now too (on my overdraft limit and living on borrowed money from a friend til payday!), but at least that should be sorted pretty soon as my new job is a 40% payrise from the old one. So even with a 4 month layoff, I should still earn more in 2009 than I did in 2008! Woohoo

Congratulations again mate.

jedi, hope you find something soon mate!
