Thinking of replacing the rotors on my spicy 316 - it has K18 ORO brakes and 180mm rotors. Anyone have any experience of the Ashimo rotors?? or any suggestions to what I could upgrade to?

Thanks

Hi mate,

The ashima rotors are good, really light, and seem to perform as well as they can be expected to.
I have got the new ones (with the different coloured anodising) but i wouldn't buy the coloured ones again. After a few rides the paint is fading and coming of in places.

So yeah, go for them, but give the 'pretty' looking ones a miss..

Cheers
Josh...

Fine for me, and very light - plus were cheap from Merlin.

Seconded, I run 160mm and 140mm with Juicy Carbons, no problems at all.

Just put a set on mine with Oro K24s, very good so far- they perform just like any other disc and they weigh nothing.

I too tried Ashima rotors (Air rotors to be exact) with K24's and got a real pulsing effect under hard braking and overall power was down. I thought it's cause the formula pads are just bigger than the holes. I swapped them to my Juicy's where they work just fine.

Northwind - are your's these ones? :

Yup, exactly those ones. No pulsing on mine and power is the same as with the plain Formula discs.
