Does step down just mean tapered or is it a reducer from 1.5 to 1.25?

If you've got a tapered head tube and you fitting a tapered fork then you need either a tapered headset as in the first link, or a 1.125 top cup and a 1.5 bottom cup from the hope pick'n'mix
If you are fitting a non - tapered fork to a tapered head tube then you need a 1.5 to 1.125 reducer cup.
oh ok the hope wont fit then as the ID of 1.5 bottom is too large
ah i see so basically i need the traditional 1 1/8th top and traditional 1.5 bottom, thanks for the help
