Looking at a Hope Hoops wheelset, they seem to have a wider rim profile over the Arch EX.

Will go on a do it all HT for local trails, trail centres, mebbe Snowdon once a year.

Is the added width worth the added weight?

650b if it matters. 2.2" or 2.3" tyres.

You could ride XC on them, but then again you could also ride XC on Crests. Arch EX seem to be a happy medium.

Ive got them on my xc hardtail. I dont race so prefer stronger rims over the slight weight penalty

I've done 30-40 mile rides on them. Certainly not an xc rim though. Closer to world cup dh than world cup xc.

If you do this, and decide you quite like steeper rockier stuff once in a while, you may be glad you plumped for Flows.

They'll be OK if your attitude to XC racing is "turn up with what you have, have a go, and do your best".

If you care about every second of your lap time get Crests, but you probably won't want to be boinging them down Snowdon.

Arch Ex are fine if you're get with the narrower tyre profile than the Arch Ex.

sounds like 99% of your riding does not require DH rims.

get the arch EX and two sets of tires.

I run hans dampf/muddy mary for rocky days.
