[#11017212]

I got an Ard Rock Epic entry but am having second thoughts.

We have a baby due between now and then.... I bought the ticket as a motivator to keep riding....but now I'm thinking it is an expensive mistake if I'm not fit to ride.

I've never ridden an enduro, last time I entered a "race" was in the mid 90's on a rigid MTB....

Is it gonna be mega tough? Can I go around at my own pace and give up if I need to?

I'm not going to be "racing" just enjoying some crafted trails a notch on from trail centre and different to the same old usual haunts. Maybe I'm missing the point.

I don't think it's a race unless you want it to be. I'd imagine it will be competitive at the front, but yes, you'll be able to bail if you want and go at a far more relaxed pace. The previous marathon course was never that far from the campsite at Reeth so there will normally always be options to shorten the route if you've had enough.

EDIT: Oh, and the 'old' marathon course was billed at 60km, but in reality was nowhere near that! This may have been fixed, however. ๐Ÿ™‚

I rode the Enduro sport a few years ago when we had a three month old that never slept. Made it round fine. Just go for it, might be daunting but I bet on the day you'll be fine.
