Everywhere's a mudbath at the moment, but the Surrey Hills drain better than that and are still superb fun.

Bedgebury Forest is riding quite nicely at the moment, in a muddy slippery way - good trail centre (nice cake!) and easily found and followed red singletrack route.

There's quite a bit round Bromley and out toward Sevenoaks but it's not that easily described without OS maps and scribbling!

That's round my way, at least... I'd be interested to know what you find out East. I grew up riding round Chelmsford (well, Danbury from Chelmsford) and I know quite a few trails round there but, again, not easily described - sorry!

Have you tried Swinley?
I occasionally go there when the Somme (Epping) gets too much.

The Chilterns are good fun ,not as muddy as Epping. But still muddy!

For me though the Surrey Hills are best darn sarf during the Winter.

I'm going epping later though 😕

Thanks everyone.

Of all those places, i have been to Woburn and Surrey Hills. Both really enjoyable.

Any GPS files for the others? If so, can you please email to

andrecorreiasantos at hotmail dot com

It will be great to find some decent stuff east, as it is much easier to get from where i am (close to epping). Any ideas on chisksands?

Cheers!

Chick sands is like woburn but smaller

The cross country loop is about 20 minutes. You can vary each lap but you wouldn't drive a long way for it

It does have a play area including dual slalom and 4X track. The dual slalom track is all rollable

It costs £5 to ride there
