As title really.

Are there any other bikes that are as good or well specced as a YT Jeffsy Pro for the money.

Long travel 29er.

Cheers

Steve

Privateer I'd say, but it's a longer travel, more aggressive bike.

Bird Aeris AM9 is always worth a look but I was on their site yesterday and most of the frames are out of stock until November! What about the new Commencal Meta?

Taking into account the carbon frame then I don't think you'll find much better value for money.

Its a bit closer to a Capra than the Jeffsy but what about the Orbea Rallon M20 for £ 3,145.50? Use code save10 and its showing as in stock.

I've just bought an AM9 frame but would have considered the Orbea had I not had a load of parts already. I'm also not overly fussed on carbon.

I'm just selling a Whyte s150 so wanting to try something different.

S150 is slightly to long in seat tube length to run a decent length dropper. It's a good 3.5cm longer than the jeffsy in the seat tube.

Can you get a dropper with a lower collar and stack?

e.g. the OneUP would get most of that difference back vs. a Reverb.

I've got a crank brothers highline 150mm dropper slammed right in the frame to get it at the right height for me to ride it and even then it's slightly to high.

Check the weight, I think the Whyte bikes are a bit heavier, or at least the wheels are.

The Bike Yoke Divine droppers that Whyte are now fitting to their bikes can have the travel adjusted by adding plastic spacers inside to customise the height.

I think you could probably get a bit more drop out of a One-Up, perhaps up to 20mm. You could find the stack heights online to compare.

Another vote for the Bird AM9, would choose one over the Jeffsy (or any YT) ant day of the week. Better built, best after sales in the business, versatile enough to be setup either as a full on enduro cannon or as a lighter AM bike

Isn't the bird a bit flexy ?

Sram GX and E-13 wheels would put me off the Jeffsy. Frame looks lovely though.

@renton I owned a V1 AM9, now have a V3, the later has a burlier construction and both front and rear triangles are quite a bit stiffer. It was not like the V1 was flexy, but wasn't as stiff as, say, a Sentinel. The new one changes that.

Also, the V3 are rated up to the longest 170mm forks available, like the RS Zeb or the Ohlins RXF36

I was going to suggest a propain tyee, looks like a whole lot of bike for the cash. Got a mate with a jeffsy and he rates it

Propain was looking good until I read a review that said the back end has a bit of flex so heavier riders may want to consider another bike.

Ripmo AF, and spend the change on upgrades.

Depends. I wouldn't exactly call the Jeffsey a long travel 29er, it's well & truely in the trail bike area.

Do you want a long travel bike, or a trail bike?

Ideally 150 front and similar back so I guess that's trail bike territory now.

Commencal Meta AM 29 or TR 29 - depending on how much travel you want?

Cube Stereo always seems good value for money, good design and looks like it fits the bill, but the YT is pretty much a great bike overall.

Yeah, Commencals seem good value and overbuilt suitably for the larger gentleman.

Found the ripmo af and now cant get it out of my head. shorter seat tube than the s150 and looks good elsewhere for the size.

Can get SLX build for just over £3500.......

The alloy hightower would be great, but i think its quite a heavy frame so would weigh a few pounds more than the jeffsy.

You won’t be disappointed. I’m so stoked with mine.

Saying that you might be disappointed by the fact that there are none about atm, but reading that some are due in August. Get in quick and you might be lucky enough to get one.
