Built up a speshy singlecross recently and its fab but someone has offered me a cross check, a mate has one and loves it but anyone used both these frames? geometry seems pretty similar but presumably the check is more forgiving at the back and slightly heavier overall? id prob change the fork at some stage but not for a while

I built a Cross Check up in the spring and love it. I'm running it with flat bars and road wheels at the moment and it handles really nicely. Its a pretty comfy frame and I'm hoping that putting drop bars and decent cross wheels on it over the winter will make it even more so.

The standard fork is fine and has such silly amounts of clearance it would be a shame to change it.

Like mick and Big Dave said. mick seems to have my bike! I've run it with the 1.8" Bonty XRs, still lots of clearance, and even 29" Smokes, would you believe!

I swapped to Vs from frogglegs as was getting tired of giving a week's notice to slow down - haven't really noticed any difference in clearance since (but can go faster because I know I can stop in time!).

Think of it as a bike that be anything from a drop bar 29er to a loaded tourer and that covers a lot if fun on one bike. Liked it so much I got the Traveller's Check version to take anywhere, so will be bidding farewell to the frame soon ๐Ÿ˜ฅ (sniff)

I love mine, it's a heavy frame though and the forks weigh an absolute ton. Loads of clearance, and it's pretty tough.
